The largest known virus

In 2013 the largest known virus in size were discovered.

Its shape resembles an egg fly or a small melon seed.

Its name is Pandoravirus dulcis (discovered in a freshwater lake in Australia) and Pandoravirus salinus (discovered in an area of brackish waters of Chile) were called.

They are observable by light microscopy because they measure one micron, ie, one-thousandth of a millimeter.
