IRENA* and BYDT** have developed a dry (no water required) treatment of organic waste from human consumption in order to design a modular plant of anaerobic digestion, decomposing waste without using oxygen.
As long as this process takes place, biogas is produced, an energy fuel for obtaining electric and thermal energy, usable for the same plant or even for general network.
In Europe there are similar initiatives within the agribusiness and livestock.
