Green Homes: when ecology and architecture join forces

The green house is a type of housing designed to be environmentally friendly, sustainable and efficient with the use of water, energy and building materials.

This initiative began in the 1970s in response to rising oil prices. Since 2000, the networks were interested in the subject and chose to broadcast programs on this way. Canada was one of the first countries.

More and more proposals and designs emerge in this area. As an example the Norwegian city of Åndalsnes. A few years ago the city open an international master plan competition taking advantage of the old railroad tracks.

The Swedish company Jägnefält Milton designed some rolling buildings, which are easily transportable to different areas, depending on the interests and activities of each season.
