Meeting the DNA code

Now we know that this basic assumption about reading the human genome missed half of the picture.

– Dr. John Stamatoyannopoulos, team leader.

Science published on Friday, a paper of the research team at the University of Washington has discovered a second code hidden within the DNA. It is the same if you read a book. You can read one word after the last, but you can read one word after four. Surely you will got another kind of message.

The known code gives instructions how proteins are made. This second language instructs the cell on how genes are to be controlled.

A new horizon for exploring has just open.
